Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 June / Trend corr. J. Babayeva/ The probability of establishment of a bloc by the Green Party of Azerbaijan with one of the Deliberative Council member parties (the format of Four) is equal to zero, Ali Orujov, Secretary for Press and Propaganda Issues of the Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) - member party of the Four - told Trend on Tuesday.
The format of the Four was established last year. It consists of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party (ADP), the ANIP, Taraggy Party, Musavat Party and public forum For the Name of Azerbaijan. Two of the member parties - Musavat and the ADP - have nominated their chairmen, Isa Gambar and Sardar Jalaloglu for presidency. Eldar Namazov, head of public forum For Azerbaijan, will run for presidency as an independent candidate.
Mais Gulaliyev, Chairman of the Green Party, told Trend earlier that his party and two more parties represented in the Four would establish a new political bloc.
Orujov said that parties included in Four believe that the format is a real and ideal form. "As to whether two parties, which are members of the Four, can join a new bloc, is out of question", Orujov added.
Concerning the membership appeal, which the Green Party submitted to the Four, Orujov reported that the Four makes its decisions on the basis of consensus and that the majority of its members denied the Green Party's request. Four does not think that it is appropriate to accept other parties into its membership. The more parties in the Four, more problems we will have, Orujov said. Therefore, we regard this matter with great cautiousness and attention, according to him.
