The first International Festival of Russian Book is expected to be held in Baku on September 14-16, the Organization Committee for the Festival told Trend today.
The organizers of the festival are the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan, the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematograph of Russia, and ITAR-TASS News Agency
Representatives of the leaders of the Russian publishing houses, well-known writers, public figures are expected to take part in the arrangement. Mikhail Shvydkoy, Chief of the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematograph, Vitaly Ignatenko, General Director of ITAR-TASS News Agency, and the first Deputy General Director of ITAR-TASS Mikhail Gusman, and other ones are also expected to arrive in Baku to take part in the arrangement.
Within the festival round table discussions, book fairs, presentation of new issues, meetings between writers and literary men, as well as the evening of Russian Poetry, the concert of art masters, and meetings with students and teachers of the Baku Slavic University are to be held within the festival. About 600 rare book-copies are expected to be given as a present to Azerbaijan.
The opening of the arrangement will be held in the Baku National Park (Neftchilar Ave, 23), where a festival camp will be arranged as well.
