BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 10. Kazakhstan’s state oil company KazMunayGas (KMG) has reported a 6.4-percent year-on-year increase in its combined oil transit volumes, reaching a total of 63.197 million tons for the first nine months of 2024, Trend reports.
According to the producer, this growth reflects an uptick in both pipeline and maritime transportation.
Oil transported via pipelines rose by 2.8 percent, totaling 52.788 million tons. The increase was driven by shipments from major fields such as Kashagan and Karachaganak, facilitated through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system.
This growth was also supported by the capacity expansion of KazTransOil’s pipeline network and rising transit demand from neighboring regions, the company added.
Meanwhile, maritime oil transportation surged by 30.1 percent, reaching 10.409 million tons. The rise in seaborne transit was largely attributed to increased shipments across the Caspian Sea, serving routes from Kazakhstan’s ports of Aktau, Makhachkala, and the Baku-Aktau corridor.
