ASTANA, Kazakhstan, December 5. South Korea is interested in cooperation with Kazakhstan in the fields of packaging, pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy, Trend reports.

A seminar on investment cooperation took place in Seoul, with the participation of Kazakhstan's ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Nurgali Arystanov, and the deputy akim of the Turkestan Region of Kazakhstan, Nuralkhan Kusherov. During the event, the Overseas Representative of "Kazakh Invest," Daulet Saktaganov, presented information on the advantages of Kazakhstan as an attractive investment destination for South Korean companies. The seminar, organized with the support of the Korean Association of International Trade, attracted representatives from Korean and Kazakh business circles.

In his speech, Daulet Saktaganov highlighted a number of advantages of Kazakhstan, including its strategic geographical location, rich natural resources, skilled workforce, unique conditions for investors, and state support measures. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and South Korea.

During the seminar, the overseas representative also held several bilateral meetings with leading South Korean companies, including "Lotte Packaging," "GABO Korea," "Geumchul Renewable Energy," and others. At the meeting with Lotte Packaging, the prospects for cooperation in the packaging industry were discussed. During the meeting with GABO Korea representatives, the prospects for cooperation in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors were addressed. With Geumchul Renewable Energy, the parties discussed the development of joint projects in the field of renewable energy. The company executives invited their counterparts to visit Kazakhstan to learn more about investment opportunities and business prospects.

To note, South Korea actively exports machinery, equipment, various devices, and household appliances to the Kazakhstani market. Moreover, the volume of direct South Korean investments in Kazakhstan's economy exceeded $1 billion in 2023.
