ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 15. The share of non-cash transactions in the total volume of payment operations conducted by the population reached 87 percent in 2024, Trend reports via Kazakhstan's National Bank.
The positive trend of growth of non-cash transactions among the population keeps on. By the end of 2024, the number of cashless transactions increased by 13.4 percent (totaling 12.8 billion transactions), while the transaction volume grew by 17 percent (amounting to 166.1 trillion tenge or approximately $332.2 billion). On average, 35.1 million cashless transactions were conducted daily, totaling 453.6 billion tenge (approximately $907.2 million).
Of all transactions conducted by the population in 2024, 98 percent in terms of quantity and 87 percent in terms of volume were cashless, indicating a high level of trust in financial technologies due to the convenience and speed of cashless transactions.
To note, the majority of cashless transactions in 2024 were carried out through banks' online services, accounting for 90 percent of the total volume of cashless transactions.
