ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 2. "Google Tax" has brought more than 83 billion tenge ($165 million) to Kazakhstan, Trend reports via the State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan.

"These figures reflect effective tax administration and the steady growth of the country's digital economy," the State Revenue Committee noted.

The name "Google Tax" emerged due to the digital services tax introduced in 2022. Since its implementation, 105 foreign companies have registered in the country.

"This tax creates competitive conditions for international companies providing digital services to Kazakh consumers and contributes to increased budget revenues," the committee emphasized.

The committee also reported that it continues to improve tax regulation mechanisms and cooperation with international digital platforms, ensuring transparency, fair taxation, and compliance with legislation. In cooperation with tax administrations from more than 200 jurisdictions, the activities of international online companies operating in the country are being monitored.
