ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 18. The Minister of
Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yersayin
Nagaspayev has signed an order imposing a six-month ban on the
export of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals,
Trend reports.
Kazakhstan is putting the brakes on the export of waste from
ferrous and non-ferrous metals for another six months. According to
the order, the export of the following from the country by all
types of transport is prohibited:
Scrap and waste of copper, aluminum, and lead, as well as lead-acid batteries that have reached the end of their service life.
Scrap and waste of ferrous metals, including used pipes and rails, as well as elements of railway infrastructure and rolling stock.
The order will come into effect 10 calendar days after its first official publication.
