Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 June / Trend corr E. Ismayilov/ "In September, 2009, the representatives of the Azerbaijan State Railway and International Union of Railways (UIC) will meet in Bern," attorney of the UIC General Secretariat Jean-Pierre Leman said on 19 June.

The meeting will solve the issue regarding Azerbaijan's joining the organization as a full member.

According to Leman, currently Azerbaijan is not a permanent member of UIC - that is only the first stage of entering. "I think the issue will be solved," attorney said.

"Azerbaijan's full joining the Convention on international cargo transportation will be also discussed at the September meeting," Leman said.

International Union of Railways (UIC) is a world organization for international cooperation amongst railways and global promotion of railway transport. UIC uniting 201 members in five continents was established in 1922.
