A new terminal will appear at the airport of Shymkent city of Kazakhstan, the city mayor’s office said in a message Sept. 5.
Shymkent city major Gabidulla Abdrakhimov and President of the SCAT Airlines company Vladimir Denisov have signed the corresponding memorandum.
Construction of the terminal will be conducted in several stages.
The airline company plans to invest $50 million in the terminals’ construction. This is while the city mayor’s office will carry out reconstruction of engineering networks and construction of access and bypass roads and the station square to the new terminal. The object is planned to be commissioned in the first half of 2020.
Abdrakhimov noted that the emergence of a new modern terminal will improve the image of the city and increase the number of tourists.
Shymkent International Airport accepts all types of aircraft without restriction. Working around the clock, the airport fully ensures customs, border and sanitary - quarantine control.
Regular flights to all regional centers of Kazakhstan, as well as to the cities of CIS, Istanbul, Antalya, Urumqi, Dubai, etc. are carried out from the airport.
