Kazakhstan's Industry and Infrastructure Development Minister Roman Sklyar has spoken at a government meeting about the activity results of the Project Office to monitor the implementation of the Program of concessional lending to priority projects of the "economy of simple things", Trend reports via Kazakh media.

To date, seven meetings of the Project Office have been held, and reports of more than 300 enterprises have been heard out.

"The Project Office works with 344 potential projects worth 306 billion tenge, of which 10 projects worth 6.1 billion tenge (cattle meat, pasta, gypsum, wholesale and distribution centers, hotels, milk, sausages, potatoes) were approved by second-tier banks, 52 projects worth 16.6 billion tenge are under banks' consideration," Sklyar said.

He noted that most of the projects under consideration are in the fields of food industry and services.

Surveys of businessmen showed that the main problem for business is the lack of collateral base and business over-indebtedness. Of the 344 enterprises surveyed, about 100 noted the lack of collateral in obtaining loans.
