The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan is working on the transition to a digital system, in particular, much attention is paid to the implementation of the "Single window" system, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan
This work is being carried out in accordance with the decree of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on approval of the concept of development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025.
The possibility of introducing a pre-cargo Declaration system (TIR-EPD) is also being studied. In this context, the customs service maintains close cooperation with Road Transport Union (IRU).
In general, the State customs service of Turkmenistan pays great attention to the development of international cooperation, as well as the implementation of international law at the national level.
As earlier IRU told Trend, The International Road Transport Union (IRU) and Turkmenistan have recently discussed the integrating the IRU TIR-EPD (electronic pre-declaration) module and the e-TIR module into The Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA) customs system.
IRU pointed out that ASYCUDA is currently being implemented in Turkmenistan.
ASYCUDA is a computerized customs management system which covers most foreign trade procedures. The system handles manifests and customs declarations, accounting procedures, and warehousing manifest and suspense procedures. It generates detailed information about foreign trade transactions which can be used for economic analysis and planning.
“IRU recommends that the integration of the EPD and e-TIR modules are taken into account during the implementation of ASYCUDA in Turkmenistan,” added the IRU.
