Korean Company Plans Construction of Electrical Equipment-Producing Plant in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr A. Badalova / Besides the construction of a thermo-electric power station capable of 700 MW, the Korean Kepko company also intends to construct an electrical equipment-producing plant in Baku.

According to the Azerbaijan Industry & Energy Ministry, a meeting between Azerbaijani Industry Minister, Natig Aliyev, and the president of the Korean company, Von-Gul Le, took place in Baku on 24 September.

Aliyev expressed Azerbaijan's interest to cooperate with the Korean company. Reforms in the energy sector, improvement of management, bringing Azerbaijan's energy infrastructure close to world standards, construction of an electrical equipment producing plant by Kepko was discussed at the meeting.

Kepko takes the 5th place in the world in production of electric energy. The company constructs electric energy stations in China, the Philippines, Indonesia, the US and other countries.
