Kazakhstan halts operations at Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant for scheduled repairs

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 10. KazMunayGas JSC (Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company) will suspend the operation of the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant for scheduled repairs on June 17, 2024, Trend reports.

According to the company, the repair and preventive maintenance of the plant's equipment is planned to be completed within a month—by July 18, 2024.

Furthermore, the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant processed about 2.5 million tons of raw materials from January through May this year.

During this period, the plant produced 730,000 tons of gasoline, about 807,000 tons of diesel fuel, up to 130,000 tons of bitumen, 217,000 tons of fuel oil, 147,000 tons of liquefied natural gas, and almost 113,000 tons of jet fuel.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan produced 90 million tons of oil in 2023, which is 6.9 percent higher than in 2022.

Oil exports also saw a significant increase, reaching a total of 70.5 million tons, marking a 9.6 percent growth compared to the previous year.

Moreover, in 2024, Kazakhstan has set its sights on ramping up oil production to a whopping 90.3 million tons.
