ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 31. Kazakhstan is currently implementing a number of agricultural projects in the country's Mangystau region, Trend reports.
According to the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Yerbol Taszhurekov, Vice Minister of Agriculture has recently visited the region.
He paid a visit to the continuing building of a wholesale distribution center in Aktau, Mangystau, as part of his trip. The project, at 3.5 billion Kazakh tenge ($7.8 million), will hold up to 29,000 tons of vegetables and fruits. The center's opening is anticipated for next year.
Another food warehouse in Aktau's Seaport has been running successfully for 7 years. The project, which is equipped with sophisticated refrigeration equipment, was launched with the cooperation of Azerbaijani investors.
Overall, in Mangystau, three agricultural projects worth 2.2 billion Kazakh tenge ($4.9 million) were successfully implemented last year. For this year, seven new projects amounting to 1.9 billion Kazakh tenge are underway (4.2 million).
Moreover, acording to the vice minister, following President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's initiative, the country is actively developing essential infrastructure for the preservation of fruits and vegetables.
The plan to build and modernize vegetable storage facilities has been amended, with a total capacity of 528,800 tons anticipated by 2025. Additionally, revisions to the Rules of Investment Subsidization are being introduced, boosting the reimbursement rate from the present 25% to 40-50%, depending on the used storage technology.
