Kyrgyzstan and UAE companies sign agreements to promote trade

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 16. Kyrgyzstan and UAE's AD Ports Group and Maqta Gateway signed two agreements to promote trade and strengthen economic ties, Trend reports referring to the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.

In accordance with the first agreement, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan signed a document with AD Ports Group, under which the Emirati company allocated more than 300,000 sq m of land in the KEZAD free economic zone - (Khalifa Economic Zone Abu Dhabi (KEZAD), located in close proximity to the most modern port in the region - Khalifa Port Abu Dhabi (Khalifa Port), for the development and operation of the logistics center and customs zone.

“Our preliminary agreement with the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan will be the beginning of a new chapter in UAE-Kyrgyzstan relations, with the plan for a logistics hub and customs area providing a focal point for economic development and trade between our nations,” CEO of Economic Cities & Free Zones, AD Ports Abdullah Al Hameli said.

Under the second agreement, Maqta Gateway will initiate a strategy for the Ministry of Finance for developing a customs and border management solution, infrastructure, and national single window, among other digital services, for deployment in Kyrgyzstan.
