BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 26. Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover with Italy amounted to $74.070 million (0.6 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total trade) from January through October 2023, which is a 2.1-times increase compared to the same period in 2022 ($35.052 million), Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee reveals that Kyrgyzstan's exports to Italy reached $314,400, experiencing a 99 percent rise compared to the same months in 2022 ($157,800).
Kyrgyzstan's imports from Italy constituted 0.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s overall imports, totaling $73.755 million. This figure rose by 2.1 times year-on-year ($34.895 million from January through October 2022).
Among European countries, Switzerland holds the largest share in trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan (5.5 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade), followed by Germany (2.8 percent) and Lithuania (0.7 percent).
Following closely are Italy, France, and the UK, each accounting for 0.6 percent of Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover. Overall, European countries contribute to 13.2 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade.
Kyrgyzstan's total foreign trade turnover amounted to $12.297 billion from January through October 2023, up 24.9 percent compared to $9.845 billion in the same period in 2022.
Kyrgyzstan's exports stood at $2.443 billion for the 10-month period, a 29.6-percent increase over the $1.885 billion recorded from January through October 2022. Imports into Kyrgyzstan totaled $9.854 billion during this period, which is a 23.8 percent increase over the same period in 2022 ($7.959 billion).
