Turkmenistan reveals weekly data for transactions on its commodity exchange

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 15. The total amount of transactions in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange of Turkmenistan amounted to about $83.56 million last week, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

Entrepreneurs from the UAE, Switzerland, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and other countries purchased fuel oil and kerosene produced at the Turkmenbashi Oil Processing Complex, as well as aviation kerosene, base oil, and liquefied gas produced at the enterprises of the Turkmennebit State Concern.

Representatives of business circles from the UAE and Pakistan purchased cotton yarn and licorice root extract in the amount of 51.1 million Turkmen manats ($14.6 million).

Entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan purchased packaging film, petroleum bitumen, polypropylene, and handmade carpets for the domestic market in the exchange for a total amount of more than 31.7 million Turkmen manats ($9.07 million).

A total of 79 transactions were registered at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week.

The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
