Uzbekistan shares volume of transported transit cargoes in 3M2024

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 6. Uzbekistan transported 2.7 million tons of transit cargo from January through March 2024, Trend reports.

According to Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, the volume of transported goods by rail amounted to 2.2 million tons and by road to 536,000 tons during this period.

At the same time, the share of transported goods by rail in relation to the total volume of cargo reached 80.5 percent, while the share of transported goods by road amounted to 19.5 percent in relation to the total volume of cargo.

Meanwhile, the volume of transported transit cargoes (by road and rail) on Uzbekistan's territory amounted to 11.2 million tons from January through December 2023.

The rail transport carried 9.1 million tons (in relation to the total volume of cargo, 81.3 percent), while the road transport carried 2.1 million tons (in relation to the total volume of cargo, 18.7 percent).
