Uzbekistan puts its national payment system for privatization

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 23. Uzbekistan started the privatization process of 100 percent state share of the National Interbank Processing Center (HUMO) by public invitation to negotiations per Article 22 of the Law of Uzbekistan on Privatization of State Property, Trend reports.

According to Uzbekistan's State Assets Management Agency, the Deloitte International Company is a consultant of the Agency on this project.

The National Interbank Processing Center has the appropriate license of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan necessary for carrying out activities as an operator of the payment system.

In addition, National Interbank Processing Center's authorized capital amounts to 155.4 billion soums ($12.3 million).

The bidding process will be carried out in three stages, including the Express of Interest, the collection of Non-Binding Bids, and the collection of Binding Bids. At the final stage, bidders are required to make a guaranteed payment of at least 1 percent of the proposed binding quotation.

The Express of Interest may be prepared in Uzbek, Russian, or English languages by 18:00 (GMT+5) on August 22, 2024, and sent to: [email protected]

Meanwhile, the HUMO payment system has issued more than 27 million cards, and installed more than 210,000 terminals and more than 6,400 ATMs.
