BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. The western ports of Hormozgan Province, located in the south of Iran, facilitated the export of nearly 5.83 million tons of oil and non-oil products in the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), Morteza Salari, the director general of the Hormozgan province's western ports and maritime administration, told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, the Lengeh Port, located in the western part of the province, handled 2.08 million tons of exports, marking a 10 percent increase compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024).
Additionally, Salari mentioned that the Siri port saw the export of 1.76 million tons, the Lavan Port 1.26 million tons, the Parsian Port 466,000 tons, and the Charak Port 253,000 tons of goods.
Salari also provided details about the loading and unloading activity at various other ports in the region. The Aftab Port, located in the western part of the province, saw 442,000 tons of goods handled, while Charak Port managed 1.68 million tons, Lavan Port handled 1.79 million tons, Lengeh Port processed 4.76 million tons, and Bandar-e Shiu Port managed 3.78 million tons. Furthermore, the Bumusa Port recorded 10,400 tons, and Parsian Port handled 502,000 tons.
To note, a total of ten ports are operating in the west of Iran's Hormozgan province. Among these ports, Lengeh, Charak, Siri, and Lavan ports are the most active.
