BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. Maroun Oil and Gas Production Company (MOGPC), operating under the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), has announced that it extracted more than 195,000 barrels of crude oil in the past Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025) using specialized equipment known as MOS and MOT, said the company CEO Ghobad Naseri, Trend reports.
Speaking to local media, Naseri noted that the company intends to increase production with this equipment in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2025, through March 20, 2026).
“For the first time in Iran, we used reverse osmosis (RO) technology to desalinate 20,000 barrels of crude oil,” he said.
Furthermore, the organization executed a tactical initiative in
the preceding fiscal year aimed at seizing roughly 20 million cubic
feet (approximately 566,000 cubic meters) of flare gas
daily—representing over 90 percent of the flare gas combusted
on-site.
It is pertinent to highlight that the Maroun oil and gas production
entity, functioning under the auspices of the National Company of
Southern Oil Zones of Iran, manages a portfolio of 404 oil
extraction wells. The throughput of this enterprise is quantified
at 562,000 barrels on a daily cadence. Approximately 360,000
barrels are allocated for transit to the Isfahan Oil Refining
Company, while the remaining 202,000 barrels are directed to the
island of Khark.
Moreover, alongside its hydrocarbon portfolio, this enterprise
generates a substantial output of 570 million cubic feet
(approximately 16.1 million cubic meters) of gaseous hydrocarbons,
25,000 barrels of liquefied natural gas, and 7,000 barrels of gas
condensate on a daily basis.
