The head of Iranian Bicycle, Motorcycle and Spare Parts Dealers Union said that India is not planning to resume motorcycle exports to Iran until the sanctions on Iran are lifted, Trend reports citing ILNA.
"Our problem with India regarding the import of Indian motorcycles has not been solved yet,” Khadem Mansouri said.
“Until the sanctions are lifted, the Indians aren't very comfortable with expanding the trade, as the major shareholders of Indian motorcycle factories are Americans,” he said.
Mansouri added that the most of Iran`s motorcycles are imported from China.
“More than 50 percent of our motorcycles are of good quality,” he said. "Unfortunately, there is not much demand in the market."
He went on to ask the government to provide more support to domestic motorcycle manufacturers.
