Rally on Freedom Square in Tbilisi began with a two-hour delay and participants stated that they were ready for action.

"We do not intend to stay long here, and let everyone hear that we will not stand for long time in one place," said one of the leaders of National Assembly Gia Burjanadze opening rally on Freedom Square in Tbilisi.

He stressed that the National Assembly did not intend to wait for the parliamentary elections of 2012 and the presidential election of 2013.

In his speech, Chairman of the National Assembly Nona Gaprindashvili stated that they can no longer "tolerate the dismemberment and destruction of the state."

She called on his supporters to act only with the guidance of staff of the National Assembly and not to take independent action, noting that there is a plan of action for all cases. "The power is people, they will win," she said.
