Jan Koller didn't endear himself to his club Nuremberg when the giant Czech striker soaked up the adulation from opposing Borussia Dortmund fans.

Koller, who spent five years at Dortmund, spent minutes taking in the adulation from the Dortmund fans after the two sides played out a 0-0 draw Friday night, much to the annoyance of the 3,000 travelling Nuremberg contingent at the other end of the ground.

"The reaction from the (Nuremberg) fans really surprised and disappointed me," said Koller. "I was only thanking the Dortmund fans for their great support."

Koller first went to the Nuremberg fans but the 35-year-old then moved towards the Dortmund fans when they started applauding him.

"That was totally understandable for me," he said.

Koller played for Dortmund between 2001 and 2006, scoring 59 goals as well as winning the 2002 Bundesliga title.
