Inter Milan celebrated their Serie A title with their fans Sunday evening at the Giuseppe Meazza hours, after a 2-0 win at Parma that allowed them to win their 16th scudetto in the league's last game, dpa reported.

The blue-blacks closed a third straight successful season three points ahead of Roma, who drew 1-1 at Catania but could have profited from a slip-up by the leaders as they trailed by one point before the last game.

Clashes with police officers and Parma fans before and after the game marred Inter's celebrations.

Some of their supporters forced their way to Parma's Tardini stadium, from which they had been banned for security reasons. A police officer was seriously wounded and some fans injured in the brawl.

Parma fans angered by their club's relegation to the Serie B reportedly damaged a school where Inter supporters gathered before leaving the town.
