Moderate earthquake jolts central Japan

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.6 jolted Kyushu in southern Japan on Sunday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said, acording to Xinhua.
The focus of the quake, which occurred at 6:36 p.m., was some 30 kilometers underground in the Hyuganada region of Kyushu. There were no reports of injuries or damage. No tsunami warning was issued.
The quake registered 4 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 in the city of Miyazaki and 3 in neighboring areas, according to the agency.
