A tram line will be laid in Turkey's Mersin province, located in the south of the country, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
According to the ministry, the tram line will be built simultaneously with the subway, the construction of which is underway.
The ministry noted that the construction of the tram line will help improve the passenger transportation services in the province.
The total length of the Mersin subway will be 18.7 kilometers, six kilometers of which will go underground.
The Mersin subway will consist of 15 stations and will be able to serve 262,000 passengers daily.
