BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 27. Türkiye's revenue from airspace usage has reached a record level, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu told the local media, Trend reports.

Uraloğlu revealed that the revenue from airspace usage in 2024 has surged to a record of 24.8 billion Turkish lira ($694 million).

Uraloğlu also highlighted that the number of active airports in Türkiye has grown from 26 in 2002 to 58 by the end of 2024. He stressed that Türkiye now ranks among the countries with the world’s most extensive flight networks.

The minister further emphasized that the number of countries Türkiye has signed air transport agreements with has increased from 81 to 175. Additionally, international flights have expanded from 60 routes in 50 countries in 2002 to 349 routes across 132 countries, following the addition of 289 new destinations.

Uraloğlu noted that, in 2023, Türkiye earned 13.1 billion Turkish lira ($366.6 million) from airspace usage through aeronautical services. He added that revenue from airspace usage is expected to reach 35.7 billion Turkish lira ($999.2 million) this year, 37.2 billion Turkish lira ($1 billion) next year, and 43.4 billion Turkish lira ($1.2 billion) by 2027.
