BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has an expanded meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in the framework of his official visit to Ukraine.

This is reflected in the post of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs on X social network.

According to the post, the meeting reviewed progress in implementing the agreements reached by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The ministers discussed the Azerbaijan-Ukraine strategic partnership, trade, energy, investment, transport, humanitarian and multilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international security issues.

The parties emphasized the importance of regularly maintaining high-level contacts and noted that bilateral mechanisms such as political consultations, the Intergovernmental Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation, and the Business Council play an important role in expanding cooperation.

The meeting exchanged views on regional processes and international challenges against the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine. Bayramov once again emphasized the importance of the earliest cessation of hostilities and settling the conflict through diplomatic means with strict observance of international law. He confirmed Azerbaijan's consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

Sybiha expressed his deep condolences over the deaths and injuries of Azerbaijani citizens as a result of the ongoing military operations in the Black and Azov Seas, conveyed his condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

The ministers also highly appreciated Azerbaijan's humanitarian assistance of more than $50 million, the reconstruction projects implemented in Irpin, and the rehabilitation programs for Ukrainian children.

During the meeting, Bayramov also informed his counterpart about the current situation in the South Caucasus, the Azerbaijani-Armenian normalization process, as well as the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories.

According to the post, the minister was presented with archival materials on the activities of the diplomatic mission (commissariat) of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in Ukraine in 1918-1920, as well as diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine during that period.

The post noted that the materials on display included historical documents, official correspondence, as well as reports prepared on Azerbaijan and the Caucasus during that period.
