Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 April / corr. Trend K. Zarbaliyeva/ New items regarding the criminal responsibility of legal entities will be added to the Azerbaijani Penal Code, Kamran Aliyev, the Head of the Office for the Fight against Corruption under the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan said to media.
According Aliyev, Azerbaijan has taken a commitment to include these items to the penal code. Aliyev also said that the additional plan on the increase in transparency and national strategy in its fight against corruption requires amendments to be made to the Penal Code.
The international experience on the criminal responsibility of legal entities will be studied, he said. According to Aliyev, the establishment of criminal responsibility for the legal entities will result in change of basic principles of legislation and renewal of majority of items of the Penal Code.
The Azerbaijani legislation requires criminal responsibility only for the physical persons.
