Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec.12 / Trend / Council of Europe calls on Azerbaijan to re-consider the Law on Money Laundering.
Council of Europe Committee of experts is concerned with the situation of the law in Azerbaijan, is s stated in the report of the Council, which was placed on the website of the organization.
Council of Europe took into consideration the fact that the law on struggle against legalization of money and real property, which were acquired illegally and finance of terrorism has passed the second hearing in the Parliament, but the law does not meet international norms.
Council appealed to Azerbaijan with recommendations to reconsider the law immediately in order to introduce main demand requirements of the laws on money laundering and finance of terrorism.
The Council of Europe member-countries were warned to be attentive while signing deals with private or juridical entities in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani Parliament adopted the law during the second reading on Oct.31 2008.
