The aim of OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis's visit to Georgia is to preserve OSCE mission in the country, Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze said at a traditional briefing on March 23.

It is not optimistic that the mission will be preserved as Russia keeps to its initial tough position on this regard, he said. "Greek side repeatedly addressed with mature compromise proposal but Moscow does not agree," Vashadze said.

Georgia does not accept Russia's proposal about opening of separate OSCE mission in Tskhinvali. Not only Tbilisi but the international community also oppose Russia's proposal," Vashadze said.

Bakoyannis will pay one day visit to Georgia on March 23.
