Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili received James Appathurai, NATO's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia, at his residence. Once again Appathurai voiced his position and stressed that the Alliance supports Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Georgian presidential administration told Trend.
The sides discussed measures to be implemented in the NATO - Georgia cooperation initiative, and paid special attention to Georgia's participation in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan.
The conversation also touched upon regional security issues.
During the conversation Appathurai confirmed that the NATO Bucharest summit' decision regarding Georgia's integration into the Alliance remains in force.
