About 80 percent of girls studying at secondary schools in Iran have boyfriends, member of the Scientific Council of Tehran University "Tabatabai" Mahmoud Golzari said a thematic conference, held in the capital of Iran, the analytical website parsine reported.
Golzari added that, perhaps, teenagers have intimate relations, but neither school nor their families can talk about this with confidence.
He stressed that this information must serve as a warning to adults.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's demand to stop implementing a project to separate education for girls and boys at universities will be fulfilled, Iranian Science and Technology Minister Kamran Daneshjou said earlier.
On July 6, Ahmadinejad demanded to immediately cease the practice of separate education for girls and boys at universities.
He earlier reported that the ministry has no plans to introduce a separate study.
