BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 19. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker on November 19 to discuss regional and global security issues, Trend reports via the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting covered the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan-U.S. bilateral cooperation, the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, and broader regional and global security concerns.

The officials recalled agreements reached during the historic Washington meeting in August, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to advance the strategic partnership between the two countries. Strengthening cooperation on regional stability, energy security, and the expansion of transport corridors was highlighted. In this context, Azerbaijan expressed interest in the accelerated implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), aimed at ensuring seamless connectivity between Azerbaijan proper and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The meeting also reviewed the activities of a Strategic Working Group tasked with drafting a Strategic Partnership Charter to reinforce collaboration in areas of mutual interest and stressed the need to establish an institutional framework for practical bilateral cooperation.

Discussions included peace and stability in the South Caucasus and plans for multilateral and bilateral platforms.

Minister Bayramov briefed his counterpart on the measures taken within the framework of the normalization process, as well as on post-conflict recovery and reconstruction efforts.

Regional developments in the Middle East and other areas of mutual concern were also addressed.

The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) is a proposed transportation corridor in Armenia designed to connect mainland Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan exclave, perhaps establishing a direct link between Türkiye and the Caspian Sea. The initiative is a component of a U.S.-facilitated peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, with the objective of establishing new infrastructure for roads, trains, and additional transportation connections.
