Uzbek young singer wins at Int'l Contest

Leia Bulgakov is the winner of the festival of children's art "Yangi avlod-2007". She was awarded with the first degree of the VII International festival-contest of children's song "Smile of the World ", held in Odintsovo (Russia) April 8-12, the Uzbek media reported.

Leia Bulgakov is the winner of the festival of children's art "Yangi avlod-2007". She was awarded with the first degree of the VII International festival-contest of children's song "Smile of the World ", held in Odintsovo (Russia) April 8-12, the Uzbek media reported.

About 200 young musicians aged 5-16 from nine countries of the world attended the contest.

Leia Bulgakova performed "Orange Sun". She became the first representative of Uzbekistan, who participated in the contest "Smile of the World". Teacher Elena Shaverdova trained the girl for the contest.

She became the owner of Grand Prix "Aladdin" in 2007, in 2008 she was awarded with the first prize at the International Competition "Golden Microphone" (Kazakhstan), in 2009 she was awarded with first prize at the International Competition "Note for note" (Bulgaria).

The first festival "Smile of the World" was held in April 2004 and brought together 65 artists from different cities of Russia. About 2,000 children from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Estonia, Romania, U.S and Denmark attended all festivals "Smile of the World".

Chairman of the jury is People's Artist of Russia, composer Evgeni Krilatov.
