Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari has arrived in Turkey today, following the Turkish Parliament's prolongation mandate on conduct of cross-border military operations in northern Iraq, Anadolu agency reported.

Within the framework of the visit, Zebari will discuss the problem of Kurdish separatists and other regional issues.

Turkish parliament approved on September 5 a motion submitted by the government for cross-border military operations in fight against the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party.

The group, listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union, launched an armed campaign for an ethnic homeland in the mainly Kurdish southeastern Turkey in 1984, sparking decades of strife that has claimed more than 30,000 lives.

Yesterday Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki stated that Iraq should prevent foreign interference and use its internal security forces with a view to effectively fight against the terrorist PKK.
