ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 28. Kazakhstan is set to export its eGov system to Mongolia, enabling Mongolia to leverage Kazakhstan’s experience in digitalizing public services, Trend reports.
The issue was discussed within the Kazakhstan-Mongolia Business Council held ahead of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Mongolia.
Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev spoke about key areas of digital cooperation, including building an innovative ecosystem, supporting startup projects, implementing digital governance (GovTech), and advancing aerospace initiatives.
Minister Madiyev highlighted the active participation of Mongolian startups in Astana Hub’s accelerator programs. For instance, a Kazakh startup, Jet, launched electric scooter rentals in Mongolia, bringing over 6,000 scooters to residents.
Speaking further, Gabidulla Ospanqulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared insights on Kazakhstan’s investment climate, mechanisms for attracting foreign investment, and government support measures. "Kazakhstan is committed to enhancing the investment climate by creating new opportunities for capital inflow. We are building infrastructure and offering tax incentives for foreign companies, making Kazakhstan an attractive destination for sustainable, long-term investment, including for our Mongolian partners".
The Business Council concluded with the signing of the council’s regulation by Murat Karimzakov, Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Foreign Trade Chamber, and Duuren Tumenjargal, Chairman of the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Four commercial agreements were also signed between the business communities of both countries.
Meanwhile, in 2023, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Mongolia reached $133 million, with Kazakh exports totaling $124.3 million and imports $8.7 million.
