ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 29. The Chinese company China Huadian Corporation plans to build a wind power plant in the Ekibastuz region and a solar power plant in the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

The Chairman of the Board of KAZAKH INVEST, Yerzhan Yelekeyev, held a meeting with the leadership of China Huadian Corporation, assuring them of full support for their projects in Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the Corporation's Vice President Li Xuhong announced plans to build a 200 MW wind power plant and a 40 MW solar power plant. The total cost of the projects is expected to exceed $100 million.

As a leader in gas generation in China with an installed capacity of over 30 GW, China Huadian Corporation owns power plants with a total controlled capacity of over 221 GW and an annual output of more than 535.7 billion kWh. Its clean energy output stands at 52.9 percent, with 43 percent coming from renewable sources (hydropower, wind, and solar).

As of the end of 2023, the Group's total assets amounted to $166 billion. The company focuses on electricity generation but is also involved in the coal industry, finance, technology, and engineering.
