BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 18. Main oil pipelines in Azerbaijan transported 3.2 million tons of oil in January 2025.

Data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee reveals that the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil export pipeline handled 72.3 percent of the transportation.

The volume of oil transportation amounted to 2.3 million tons in January of this year.

The majority of the oil transported through BTC, 1.9 million tons, or 83.1 percent, originated from Azerbaijani fields.

The remaining 16.9 percent, equivalent to 392,600 tons, was sourced from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

To note, main oil pipelines in Azerbaijan transported 38.7 million tons of oil in 2024. BTC oil pipeline handled 76 percent of Azerbaijan's oil transit, delivering 29.47 million tons of oil per year.

The majority of the oil transported through BTC, 24.1 million tons, or 82 percent, originated from Azerbaijani fields. The remaining 18 percent, equivalent to 5.29 million tons, was sourced from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
