BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20. The count of passenger aircraft taking to the skies from Iranian airports dipped by one percent in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through June 21, 2025) compared to the same months of the last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).
The data obtained by Trend from the Iranian Airports Company shows that in the first three months, the number of flights organized through Iranian airports amounted to 8,340 against 8,430 in the same period last year.

During the initial quarter, operational throughput was maximized
at Iran's Mashhad Airport, achieving a total of 3,980 flight
movements, followed by Shiraz Airport with 1,150 operations and
Tabriz Airport with 787 flight executions.
Iran boasts a comprehensive network of 54 civilian aerodromes
facilitating domestic and international air traffic operations.
Among these, there exist a total of 14 designated international
aerodromes. The aviation infrastructure in Iran facilitates the
transit of approximately 30 million individuals on an annual
basis.
