Liberalization of Economy in Turkmenistan to Lead to Improvement of Prospects for Foreign Investments: ATON Expert Broker

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. A.Badalova / The liberalization of the economy of Turkmenistan will lead to improvement of prospects for foreign investment in the country, Vladimir Osakovski, economist of the analytical department of the investment company ATON Broker said.

" Turkmenistan is the most closed country for foreign investments in Europe. Any action by the country directed to liberalization of the economy may lead to improvement of prospects for foreign investments," the economist said.

The President of Turkmenistan, Gurbangulu Berdimuhammad announced a change in the economy of the country in market relations in September. The President called for an efficient use of state property and financial resources. Berdimuhammad informed about the establishment of a macro economic regulating system, as well as reformation and restructure of state enterprises.

All undertaken measures in the country are attached to stabilizing the finances of the country, improvement of agriculture relations and simultaneous transference to a market system.

Formation of a corresponding legislative base is necessary to draw foreign investments, as well as privatization program.

"I hope to hear more active measures undertaken by the Kazakh Government in these directions," the economist added.
