About 1.775.8 million manat was invested in the economy of Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2011, or 2.5 percent more than the same period of 2010, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee reported.
Investments for repair and construction work made up 1.043.4 million manat totaling 58.8 percent. Investment for the construction of production facilities totaled 8.769 million manat, while non-production facilities totaled 8.989 million manat.
About 73.3 percent fall to internal investments. Most (60.5 percent) of internal investments is embedded in state-owned enterprises and organizations and only 39.5 percent - to private enterprises.
About 464.9 million manat were invested to the construction of facilities, funding of which is realized at the expense of budget funds.
Major sources of investing were funds of enterprises and organizations (1,059 mln manat or 59.6 percent of the total amount of investments), bank credits (117.3 mln manat, 6.6 percent), budget funds (487.3 million manat, 27.4 percent), non-budgetary funds (46.3 mln manat, 2.6 percent), population's personal funds (64.9 mln, 3.7 percent) and other funds (1 mln, 0.1 percent).
Of the total amount 66.1 percent were directed (1.174.1 million manat) to the development of non-oil sector, 12.2 percent (2.163 million manat) - non-oil industrial sector, 33.9 percent (6.017 million manat) - oil sector.
About 46.1 percent of investments fell to industrial areas, 2.9 percent - agriculture, forestry and fishery, 5 percent - trade, 17.9 percent - transport, 1.9 percent - communications, 1.4 percent - health care, 1.3 percent - education, 12.9 percent - real estate transactions (of which 12.7 percent - housing), 0.4 percent - construction, 4.5 percent - sports, entertainment and culture, 3.1 percent - state management, 0.1 percent - financial and insurance activity, 0.3 percent - administrative and support services and 0.5 percent - other spheres.
