The value of Iran’s exports decreased by 19 percent in the 10th month of the current Iranian year (December 21, 2020, through January 20, 2021), compared to the 9th month (November 21 through December 20, 2020), Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.
The spokesman noted that the value of Iran's exports amounted to $2.95 billion in the 10th month. While in the 9th month, this figure was $3.64 billion.
He added that Iran exported 2.15 million tons of goods worth $827 million to China, 1.5 million tons worth $467 million to Iraq, and 1.36 million tons worth $440 million to the United Arab Emirates over the 10th month.
Latifi stressed that Iran also exported 382,000 tons of goods worth $195 million to Turkey and 569,000 tons worth $188 million to Afghanistan during the reporting month.
According to Latifi, in total, Iran exported 5.96 million tons of goods worth $2.11 billion to the five countries. These countries accounted for 71.7 percent of Iran's exports in terms of value and 64 percent in terms of volume in the 10th month.
The official said that the value of Iran's foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.73 billion in the 10th month.
As reported, Iran's foreign trade turnover for the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, to January 20, 2021) amounted to about 123 million tons worth $58.7 billion.
So, Iran exported 94.5 million tons of goods worth $28.1 billion and imported 28.2 million tons worth $30.6 billion over the reporting period.
