Rising in prices for fuel and lubricating materials (oil products) in Kazakhstan is linked with increase in the volumes of oil exports from the country and the decline in imports of Russian high-octane gasoline, said the head of the oil refinery department of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan Bakhit Makhanov.

"Last year, there were not such exports, and in connection with export of gasoline and diesel, internal market has realized this and reacted," said Makhanov.

Makhanov said that in June and July, Kazakhstan exported 47,200 tons of gas and 120,000 tons of diesel fuel. As another reason for increase in the prices of these oil products, Makhanov described the decline in imports of Russia's high-octane gasoline, which covers 30 percent of Kazakhstan.

During several weeks, the prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, rose sharply, while in the south of the country in general, there was a deficit of fuel.
