Building houses under high-voltage transmission lines banned

Baku, Azerbaijan, Feb 11 / Trend /

It's categorically banned to build residential houses under high-voltage electricity transmission lines in Azerbaijan, Ministry of Emergency Situations of the country said.

This week, such kind of illegal facilities caused big difficulties in the work of Azerbaijani power men, whose work was troubled on maintenance and service of transmission lines during the problems with power supply.

"Despite the ban, the population builds accommodations illegally in many parts of Baku, leaving out of account level of risk," the representative of the ministry said.

Upon the standards established in Azerbaijan, it's allowed to build dwelling houses in 25 meters from 35-100 voltage transmission lines.

In case of reveling facts of illegal building the Ministry will draw up a report and appeal to local municipalities.

The reason for problems with the electricity supply in Baku on Tuesday was a break on one of the high-voltage transmission lines, by which energy is supplied to capital. Currently supply of the electricity has been restored.
