Ekol muhendislik xidmetleri has completed a part of the work envisaged under the second phase of the remediation and bioremediation of the oil and gas contaminated sites at the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic's (SOCAR) Absheronneft Oil and Gas Production Union.
The company removed 18.600 cubic meters of oil sludge, and delivered more than 11,000 cubic meters of small coal and about 16,000 cubic meters of land. A total of 4,500 Eldar pines and 4,500 olive trees were planted. The work was completed on Dec. 23. As stipulated in the project, oil sludge brought with crafts, must undergo bioremediation.
The company continues the process of cleaning Absheronneft's industrial areas.
The co-founders of Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri, which was created on March 1, 2006 to solve environmental problems on the Absheron Peninsula, are SOCAR (51 percent) and Lancer SA Services (49 percent).
