Over 907 million cubic meters of gas were collected from underground gas storage tanks in Azerbaijan in the autumn, winter period, a source at SOCAR told Trend today. Gas storage tanks are on its balance sheet.
Azerbaijan has two underground gas storage tanks, Kalmaz and Garadagh.
According to a source, more than 544 million cubic meters of gas were collected from the Garadag gas storage holder and more than 363 million cubic meters fell to the Kalmaz underground gas storage holder.
At present, the country's volume of gas in underground gas storage tanks is about 2.4 billion cubic meters of which about 1.3 billion cubic meters falls to Garadagh, and the rest to Kalmaz.
At present, more than 15 million cubic meters of gas are collected daily from the gas storage tanks of the country.
Following the pumping season, the volume of gas in underground tanks amounted to about 3.3 billion cubic meters compared to about 3.25 billion cubic meters at the end of the previous season. In particular, some 2.11 billion cubic meters of gas were pumped to the gas storage tanks in 2012.
