Azerbaijan's SOCAR ramps up gas processing volumes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 14. Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) processed 862 million cubic meters of gas in the second quarter of 2024, Trend reports.

The processing increased by 0.64 percent, or 5.477 million cubic meters of gas, over the year, according to calculations based on SOCAR's data.

For comparison, in the second quarter of 2023, SOCAR's gas processing volume stood at 856.83 million cubic meters.

SOCAR is involved in the exploration of oil and gas fields, as well as the production, processing, and transportation of oil, gas, and gas condensate. The company also handles the sale of oil and petrochemical products in both domestic and international markets and supplies natural gas to industrial enterprises and the population in Azerbaijan, as well as to Europe.

The company is spread far and wide, covering countries like Türkiye, Georgia, Romania, Switzerland, Germany, and Ukraine, with trading activities mainly focused in Switzerland, Singapore, and Nigeria.
