Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization launches shipping lines in the Caspian Sea to Russia and Kazakhstan, Trend reports citing ILNA.

The head of Iran`s TPO Alireza Peymanpak presented a report on launching six shipping lines in the Caspian Sea to Russia and Kazakhstan since mid-October.

“Although it has only been 15 days since the launch of these shipping lines, it has been welcomed by exporters,” he said.

Total of 25,000 tons of goods was shipped through the new shipping lines, since October 13, he said, predicting shipping of more than 50,000 tons of goods through this route every month.

Since mid-October, he says that 11 trips were made from the ports of Anzali and Amirabad to the ports of Astrakhan and Makhachkala in Russia and Octavo in Kazakhstan, of which 1,650 tons of good were transported to Russian ports.

On October 13, Khazar Sea Shipping Lines Company and the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish six regular shipping routes for freight transport between Iran’s northern ports in the Caspian Sea and those of Russia and Kazakhstan.
